Service Description
There's a difference between knowing the names of muscles and understanding how the body truly moves. This CPD workshop takes anatomy and biomechanics off the page and into the studio — showing you how to apply real anatomical understanding to the way you see, cue and teach Pilates movement. Designed for Pilates teachers, instructors and movement professionals, this workshop bridges the gap between theory and teaching. You'll deepen your understanding of how joints, muscles and fascia behave under load, and learn to translate that knowledge into sharper observation, more effective cueing and safer, smarter exercise selection. What you'll cover: Functional anatomy for movement teachers The spine, pelvis and rib cage in Pilates practice How load, lever and resistance change demand Movement analysis — learning to see what the body is really doing Applying biomechanics to cueing and correction Adapting exercises for different bodies and common restrictions Delivered in person at our Leeds Dock studios, combining theory with practical, movement-based learning in a small group setting. Led by Ebru Evrim — pathology scientist, Polestar-trained comprehensive practitioner, and educator to 170+ graduates teaching across the UK. Suitable for: qualified Pilates teachers (Mat or Reformer), trainee teachers, and movement professionals such as physiotherapists and sports therapists. Places are limited to ensure an interactive, discussion-rich learning environment.
